Kebbi

Kebbi State is recognised in the February 2026 Nigeria Stability Index review cycle for the successful hosting of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival held from 11–14 February 2026. The four day festival featured the Argungu fishing competition at the Matan Fada River, boat races, water sports, camel and donkey races, and cultural performances, drawing large public participation and national media attention. The event demonstrated effective security coordination, logistics management, and tourism activity, while generating economic activity across hospitality, transport, and local trade within the host community. Recognition reflects a verifiable completed public outcome observed between 1–28 February 2026 and does not constitute an assessment of overall state performance.

North East Development Commission (NEDC)

The North East Development Commission is recognised in the February 2026 Nigeria Stability Index review cycle for the commissioning and formal handover of completed infrastructure projects across Bauchi, Gombe, and Adamawa States between 1–15 February 2026. Projects delivered covered healthcare, education facilities, transport infrastructure, and public service infrastructure including health centres, university lecture theatres, bridges, access roads, schools, and institutional facilities. The projects were formally handed over to state authorities following completion, expanding service capacity and supporting economic recovery and regional development in the North East.
