Kebbi State is recognised in the February 2026 Nigeria Stability Index review cycle for the successful hosting of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival held from 11–14 February 2026. The four day festival featured the Argungu fishing competition at the Matan Fada River, boat races, water sports, camel and donkey races, and cultural performances, drawing large public participation and national media attention.
